Hope

Hope
~SJ

Glimmer,
of new hopes
Hope,
for better days
Days,
that melt into nights
Nights,
with so many moons,
Moons,
pulling the tides of seas,
Seas,
of endless pain,
Pain,
of impending doom, of fear
Fear,
that tomorrow, there'll be blood,
Blood,
congealed, yet red
Red,
with anger and shame,
Shame,
on the wordless, heartless, ruthless world
World,
where millions throng to watch him dance,
Dance,
deaf to the noises of violence,
Violence,
And so much of it, it fails to surprise,
Surprise,
Or inspire,
Inspire,
or desire,
Desire,
for a glimmer,
Glimmer,
of new hopes
Hope,
for better days...

(In context of President Obama's inauguration)

This was truly truly .. one of the most touching pieces of poetry, I have ever come across ...

Amazing, really ..

And yes, we did hope. But unfortunately, my hopes were dashed when once again, around 20 of my country folk (no idea how many women and kids) were killed yesterday in yet another drone attack.
